Financial planning is not a one-time event. It's a journey. MARGIN doesn’t just invest on your behalf. We provide ongoing, personalized, creative, and accountable planning in many financial categories in pursuit of your unique vision for your life, in addition to investment management.


value-based pricing

We strongly believe in flat fees as a route to equitable value-added services. Your fixed annual fee covers continuing financial planning services and investment management.

We never receive outside compensation from ANY party. Our fees are based on your financial complexity, not commissions or how much money you have. Read all about our pricing structure here.


visible deliverables

One size does not fit all. We provide written recommendations hand-tailored to your unique financial life, along with tools to not only understand our advice, but implement and challenge it. 

Our Guarantee

Ask another financial firm for a "guarantee." You probably won't get one – and definitely not in writing. We have no reservations about providing a guarantee of high-quality service and rigorous recommendations.

Although, we do not guarantee returns on any given investment, or outcome of any recommendation (that would be impossible and foolish), we DO guarantee your satisfaction with the advice you receive from us, given the information available at the time of advisement.

If you aren't satisfied after the first quarter of working with us, we'll gladly refund your fee.

Consistent Level of Service

Here are the service standards. We’ll print these out, sign them, and hand them to you at the beginning of our relationship:

  • We are deeply committed to earning and building your trust by: always acting in your best interest, doing what we say we are going to do, curiously learning more about you, admitting when we don’t know, listening beyond just your words, and constantly challenging what we think we know to be true through continuing education.

  • You will receive written financial planning recommendations, and/or an action step checklist that includes implementation guidance when MARGIN cannot execute client tasks explicitly for a client.

  • We manage your accounts within our investment philosophy and process to help meet your goals in a cost effective and tax-efficient manner.

  • You will have access to a financial planning dashboard displaying projected cashflows, tax rates, and scenario analysis for key financial decisions and trade-offs whenever possible.

  • We will monitor your plan at review intervals to provide proactive, actionable steps toward your vision.

  • We strive to return all phone calls within one working day, and emails within two working days. We’ll inform you of any short-term deviations from this policy.

  • We will have regular meetings, minimally once a year, to keep up to date with your plan and address any issues of concern to you throughout the year.

  • We use calls, e-mail, virtual conferencing, and in-person meetings to make sure communicating is convenient for you.

  • We are compensated by client fees only. Our fees are fully disclosed to you, and we do not accept any commissions or referral fees.
